Yoga Nidra

I placed yoga nidra at the top because it is the least well known practice that offers the most profound benefits. Yoga nidra is an effortless practice of total relaxation that is said to be more restful than sleep.

You lay down in shavasana with a blanket covering you and simply follow my voice as I guide you to release all contraction, all holding and journey through your body to a state of no-thingness.

This ancient practice is becoming popular for good reason. Beyond offering the deep rest our physical body is generally lacking, yoga nidra is a powerful healing and transformative practice.

Side note: yoga nidra is THE practice that got me through years of sleepless nights when I was breastfeeding.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a meditative style of practice where you hold poses, with your muscles relaxed, anywhere from one to ten minutes. I adore doing and sharing this practice! It gives you the time and space to safely release physical and emotional tension in your body.

By keeping the muscles relaxed, this practice exercises the “yin” tissues of the body: the deep fascia, ligaments, joint capsules and even the bones.

Yin yoga becomes more important as we age as our bodies become tighter and more constricted.

I usually pair yin and yoga nidra together as the practice of yin calms your nervous system and is a wonderful preparation for yoga nidra.

Embodied Slow Flow

The magic is in going slow and taking time to truly feel your breath and body as you move through the postures.

In a flow class, I will guide you to experience your body in a grounded, authentic and liberating way. You’ll stretch and twist and open your heart space. Ah, you’ll connect with the simple joy of movement as you stimulate the flow of energy in your body.

I include pranayama, breath work, in this class so you can use your breath to enliven and balance your physical and energetic body.

Once you’ve settled deeply into your body, we close with a guided shavasana.
